TT electronics Optek Technology has introduced a line of ultraviolet LEDs that can be used in medical and industrial applications, including phototherapy treatment, dentistry, fluorescence and ultraviolet spectroscopy, and photocatalyst curing. The OUE8A series is offered in wavelengths ranging from 375 to 425 nm, and with optical power output ranging from 1.8 to 15.4 mW, with a typical half power emission angle of 18° and a pulsed forward current of 1.6 A. The devices are housed in hermetic TO-46 metal can packages.
