MELAKA, Malaysia, May 6, 2009 – Dominant Semiconductors Sdn Bhd has introduced the SSx-NLD-xxx SpiceLED series. The miniature devices can withstand a high operating temperature of up to 110 °C.

Dominant_HotSpiceLED.jpgThe LEDs use an industry-standard 0603 (S-Spice) package but are only 0.6 mm high. The small, efficient and reliable design provides a wide viewing angle of 160° with enhanced thermal dissipation capability via its copper base. The package integrates a copper lead frame and an encapsulation with a temperature-resistant epoxy resin that enables the LEDs to be driven at high ambient temperatures. The LEDs are available in super red, red, amber, orange and yellow. They provide 285-mcd typical luminous intensity in super red, 355 mcd typical in red, and 450 mcd typical in amber, orange and yellow at 20mA.

Applications include automotive interior lighting, keypad illumination of PDAs, compact backlighting, consumer appliances, office equipment, and audio and video equipment.
