Lightwaves2020 Inc.’s fiber optic α tunable optical filter is a compact integrated module in a temperature-stabilized package. Wavelength tuning is achieved by applying a control voltage. Typical wavelength scanning frequency is >1 kHz, and the scanning wavelength range is 35 or 80 nm, or customer-specified. Typical insertion loss is 3 dB, the side-lobe suppression ratio is ≥20 dB, polarization-dependent loss is <0.2 dB, and polarization mode dispersion is <0.1 ps. Applications include high-resolution optical spectrum analysis, optical performance and channel monitoring, and test and measurement instruments.
