Spectrum Detector Inc. has introduced a family of large-area LiTaO3 hybrid pyroelectric detectors that feature a 9-mm-diameter element and an organic black-absorbing coating for flat spectral response from 0.25 to 14.0 μm. The devices offer a voltage or current mode circuit with noise equivalent power in the nanowatt range and voltage responsivity as high as 13,000 V/W. The SPH-19 and SPH-39 models for high-bandwidth applications offer voltage mode and current mode circuits, respectively. The SPH-29 model offers ultralow noise equivalent power with voltage mode, and the SPH-49, high voltage and detectivity with current mode. Applications include spectral radiometry as well as energy and power measurement.
