The Genesis 5.2 x-ray microanalysis software from Edax Inc. includes the AutoShape automatic spectrum collection routine, which includes a free drawing capability. The routine enables users to select points and/or shapes from an image to collect spectra. It saves and labels the spectra collected from the multiple positions, along with their position data, and then overlays the data on the image. Other additions to the software include interfaces for the Apollo 10 and 40 SDD silicon drift detectors. The Apollo detectors integrate into the range of energy and wavelength dispersive spectroscopy detectors that the company’s electronics and software are able to control.
