Zecotek Medical Systems Inc. has released its TIS-SF-787, a single-frequency Ti:sapphire laser. Automated tuning and smooth frequency scanning allow activation of key operational regimes in hands-free mode, while the Smart-Relock function facilitates reliable, uninterrupted frequency stabilization under considerable ambient disturbances. The laser features up to 2 or 3.8 W of output power with a pump radiation power of 10 or 18 W, respectively. It operates at wavelengths from 690 to 1000 nm and can reach short wavelengths from 345 to 500 nm with the use of the company’s resonant frequency doubler. A linewidth of 10 kHz enables research in fields that include atomic cooling, atomic trapping and quantum manipulation, optical pumping, atomic lithography, optical metrology, high-density data recording and direct-write atom lithography.
