The OneLight Spectra color programmable light source for applications in research, health care and the life sciences provides various mixes of color and illumination. Released by OneLight Corp., it replaces conventional light sources, shutters, filter wheels and optical filters in microscopy and spectroscopy imaging systems. Employing built-in and user-defined spectral profiles, it eliminates the need for repeated calibration. The device offers increased measurement sensitivity and dynamic range of measurement as well as instantaneous dynamic control of color, exposure and intensity. It delivers output intensity of 250 mW full spectrum (at output of 5 mm liquid lightguide, 15 nm resolution), spectral resolution to 10 nm, a 400- to 700-nm spectral range, intensity control levels >10,000 and a rate of up to 7000 spectra per second. It comes equipped with software and a USB cable for connection to a Windows 2000- or XP-based computer.
