NP Photonics Corp. has introduced the Rock, a single-frequency fiber laser that resists vibration without the need for active stabilization. It employs a proprietary stabilization technique that multiplexes the information from a number of spectral channels. The company says that this method significantly reduces the sensitivity to vibration and to low-frequency acoustics, with up to 100 times less sensitivity to vibration than conventional systems. The laser can be implemented into a variety of OEM systems.
