With the addition of 15 filter sets for as many fluorescent proteins, Omega Optical Inc. now offers filter sets for a total of 35 proteins. Providing a high signal-to-noise ratio for low-light-level live-cell imaging experiments, the sets are manufactured using the proprietary Alpha technology, which produces steep slopes and accurate band placement for maximizing excitation and emission energy. They are available for Invitrogen’s Vivid Colors products, including proteins manufactured from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria; for Clontech’s Living Colors line, including proteins derived from the reef coral Anthozoa; for MBL’s Coral Hues standard and photoactivated proteins developed with Riken; and for proteins developed at the University of California, San Diego.
