The UltraBlock multilayer, dielectric thin-film coatings from Deposition Sciences Inc. are designed to block more than 99 percent of the harmful UV wavelengths between 200 and 380 nm and to transmit more than 90 percent (average) of the visible wavelengths between 425 and 700 nm. They transmit visible light without changing the color appearance of the source material and remain stable through temperature and humidity variations. They also meet the Mil-C-675 standards for abrasion, adhesion and salt fog. They can be applied to transparent substrates and to the highly curved surfaces of lenses, tubes and cover glasses. Suitable for use in LCD projectors, fiber illuminators and medical instruments, the filters are supplied on sheets of Borofloat glass in thicknesses of 1.1, 1.75, 2.2 and 3.3 mm.
