Oz Optics Ltd.'s variable fiber optic delay lines can create delays of up to 0.3 ns with 30-fs resolution. By adjusting the distance between the fiber optic collimator and the focuser, which are mounted on a movable translation stage, users can control the delay time within the device. The delay lines are hand-adjustable with either lead screws or micrometers; motorized versions using either servo- or stepper motors also are available. Insertion loss is 1.5 dB over the travel range, and available wavelengths range from 400 to 1625 nm.
