MELAKA, Malaysia, Sept. 10, 2009 – Dominant Semiconductors Sdn Bhd has introduced a high-intensity RGB (red, green, blue) SPNovaLED (NMRTB-USD) as part of its SPNovaLED series, replacing the existing NMRTB-USS device. The RGB technology enables driving each chip in the package individually to mix and match any requested color, including white, to provide balanced lighting distribution.

Dominant_SPNovalLED.jpgOperating current is 250 mA, and typical luminous intensity is 9000 mcd for red, 18,000 mcd for true green, and 4500 mcd for blue.

The LED offers a long lifetime due to its silicone encapsulation and the low thermal resistance of the housing, converting it to a multiLED product. It measures 6.0 × 6.0 × 1.5 mm and has a viewing angle of 125? to ensure good color mixing.

Applications include full color display boards, signage, decorative lighting, and channel and architectural lighting.
