LAKE FOREST, Calif., Sept. 28, 2009 – An LED simulator for driver testing has been released by Chroma Systems Solutions Inc. The 63110A electronic load module allows the forward voltage and operating resistance to be set to adjust the loading and ripple current to better simulate LED characteristics.

It has increased bandwidth to allow for pulse width modulation dimming testing. Until now, LED drivers have been typically tested with actual LEDs or with resistive elements. The electronic load module delivers automation, faster test methods and repeatable load characteristics.

It was designed to simulate LED I-V curve and characteristics to eliminate conventional load disadvantages. Not only can it test in stable conditions, but it can also test turn-on and pulse width modulation dimming characteristics of the LED driver, and the operating resistance value can be adjusted according to the LED V-I curve.

The modular DC electronic load is used with the company’s two- or four-channel mainframes.
