MARLBOROUGH, Conn., Dec. 1, 2009 – The MDrive linear actuators manufactured by Intelligent Motion Systems Inc. provide linear motion in a compact all-in-one package with leading integrated step motor and driver technology.
Available in three NEMA motor sizes (14, 17 and 23) and two shaft styles (noncaptive and external), the actuators offer options including a motion control version with an integrated and fully programmable controller with RS-485 or CANopen communications; AccuStep motion control technology to prevent unintentional stalling and to save energy and reduce heat through variable current control; an encoder integrated with the lead screw for position feedback; and an all-inclusive QuickStart kit to speed design verification and time-to-market.

Their input voltage ranges from 12 up to 75 VDC, and nominal load limits are up to 200 lb. They perform full 256 × 200 microstepping with an operating range of -40 to 85 °C for long life and trouble-free service in demanding environments.

Linear actuator screws are manufactured from premium grade stainless steel, and they are corrosion-resistant and nonmagnetic. They also are available with an optional Teflon coating. These precision rolled screws are offered with many lead pitches and end finishes and can be ordered in 2.54-mm length increments to meet a wide range of application requirements.

Applications include printing, paper, packaging; handling, labeling; electronics manufacture; medical technology; and laboratory equipment.
