Dexela Ltd. has introduced a family of flat panel CMOS x-ray detectors for medical applications including mammography, tomosynthesis, breast and dental cone-beam CT, fluoroscopy, cardiology, angiographic imaging and bone densitometry. The main components are a CMOS image sensor, a scintillator, control electronics, and readout electronics and communications with the workstation. The image sensor has a photodiode array with 75-µm pixels. It produces low dark current and read noise and delivers high linearity and consistent response. It performs multiresolution readout with dynamically adjustable binning at 1 x 2, 2 x 2, 1 x 4, 2 x 4 and 4 x 4. Frame rates range from 26 to 86 fps. Features include 75- to 300-µm pixel pitch, high detective quantum efficiency and contrast, reduced image lag, and ready-to-run software and drivers.
