Cargille Laboratories has designed type 37DF immersion oil to provide the optical values required for a sharp image at 37 °C. Immersion oil standardized for room temperature at 23 °C may offer decreased resolution when used at 37 °C because critical optical values change with temperature. The 37DF, as does the DF at 23 °C, offers very low background fluorescence, making it suitable for fluorescence microscopy applications. The oil is available in 1-, 4- and 16-oz bottles.
