Offering four output powers ranging from 20 to 100 mW, the Sapphire 514 LP lasers from Coherent Inc. provide a compact, reliable all-solid-state alternative to legacy ion technology in the green wavelength. Based on proprietary optically pumped semiconductor laser technology, the lasers deliver a diffraction-limited TEM00 (M2 <1.1) output beam, low amplitude noise of <0.25% rms and a pointing stability of <30 µrad for ±3 ºC. Their small footprint and high electrical efficiency facilitate and simplify integration into OEM instrumentation with the reduced physical, electrical and thermal demands. Applications include flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, DNA sequencing, high-throughput drug discovery, diagnostic imaging, homeland security, biohazard detection, semiconductor inspection and metrology.
