TAIPEI, Taiwan, July 6, 2010 — GlacialLight Inc.'s GL-SD60 series dust- and waterproof DC-powered LED spotlights and floodlights are used in indoor and outdoor lighting applications.

Protected against strong water jets from all directions and designed with a beam angle of either 30° or 60°, the devices provide spotlighting or floodlighting as required at residential, commercial and industrial sites for security or construction lighting. They consume 76 W of power, have a typical luminous efficacy of 46 lm/W and last for a life span of more than 20,000 h, eliminating the need for frequent replacement.

A standard 12- or 24-VDC power supply can be used for the inbuilt LED driver, which is equipped with undervoltage lockout and will prevent damage if the power supply's voltage should fall below adequate levels. For a 12-V, this level is 11 V and, for a 24-V, it is 22 V. Overvoltage protection prevents damage to the LED lamp, should there be an excess of DC output voltage.

LEDs in the series are available in warm white (GL-SD60-WW) with a color temperature of 3000 K and in cold white (GL-SD60-CW) with a color temperature of 6000 K.

Power efficiency is >87%. The LEDs emit no UV or IR radiation, and they comply with safety standards EN60598, EN61347-1+EN61347-2-13, EN55015+EN61547, EN60529, EN62471, EN62031 and FCC Part 15.

The cool light can reduce the rise of ambient temperatures. The LEDs are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. The 30° narrow beam angle models are suitable for spotlighting, and the 60° wide beam angle models are for floodlighting.

The LEDs require no warm-up time in cold environments, contain no hazardous metals and have a small carbon footprint
