Molecular Devices Corp. has introduced the StakMax
integrated microplate handling system, which can process up to 50 plates per batch,
increasing productivity during experiments. The benchtop system can be integrated
with the company’s SpectraMax readers, including certain discontinued models.
It is equipped with a single-plate loading adapter and a choice of magazines for
20, 40 or 50 Society for Biomolecular Sciences-standard 96- and 384-well microplates.
It operates with SoftMax Pro microplate reader data analysis software, allowing
access to more than 120 assay protocols, and with the SoftMax Pro GxP, which operates
in an FDA 21 CFR Part 11-compliant environment. A bar-code reader accessory is
optional.
