Breault Research Organization has launched a multilayered realistic skin modeling technique for disease and disorder research. The system allows users to control the chromophore concentrations in each layer of tissue independently. For use with the company’s Advanced Systems Analysis Program, it replicates absorption and scattering properties. The models may be integrated with pre-existing optical designs. Benefits include accurate characterization of system functionality and optical phenomena in tissue samples. Advanced skin modeling is the first of several realistic tissue phantoms the company plans to integrate with its optical software.
