The μ-Slide Chemotaxis 3D, a chamber for chemotaxis and migration
studies of nonadherent cells in 3-D gel matrices, has been released by ibidi GmbH.
The slide enables motion tracking of lymphocytes, dendritic cells and macro-phages
in gel matrices, including collagen. Previously, comparable cell-based assays allowed
analysis of migrating cells only in 2-D. Now, the motility of nonadherent cells
can be simulated, analyzed and quantified in an environment similar to in vivo over
a 48-h period.
