Mitsubishi Electric Europe BV has introduced 17.5- and 14.1-in.-wide XGA color TFT (thin-film transistor)-LCD modules for industrial use. The mercury-free AA175TD01 and AA141TC01 are equipped with white LED backlights for longer lifetime and enhanced efficiency. They can be operated without an inverter, unlike previous models that used cold cathode fluorescent lamp backlights. The modules produce brightness of 800 cd/m2, making them suitable for use outdoors and in brightly illuminated environments. Both models operate from —20 to 70 °C, making them suitable for use also in harsh climates. The package size, mounting position, signal interface connectors and pin alignments are compatible with the company’s previous models for easy replacement.
