Sterilizable Fiber Strippers

HUDSON, N.H., Aug. 27, 2010 — Sterilizable MediStrip fiber strippers have been developed by Laser Components IG Inc. for use in laser medicine. They ensure the safe and easy removal of the buffer of an optical fiber during an operation. Special technical know-how is not required.

The strippers are available on a standard basis for fibers with a core diameter from 200 to 1000 µm. Identification of the various stripper types is made possible by clearly visible laser marking on both sides of the stripper.

The reusable devices function reliably even after more than 100 sterilizations inside an autoclave. Validation of the sterilization process has proved that requirements for sterile products are fulfilled after completing the sterilization process.

In-house production results in high-quality products and professional support. Specific requirements in terms of diameter can be accommodated. Customers can send the company the datasheet for their fibers, and the company will suggest the appropriate tool and will place the client’s company logo on the tool upon request.
