The JK Lasers division of GSI Group has announced the release of two additions to its JK range of pulsed Nd:YAG lasers. The JK80PS and JK150PS are designed for industrial processing, medical applications, electronics and automotive components. They combine higher peak powers with improved beam quality for increased flexibility and maximized process control for faster, more precise welding and fine cutting applications. Fiber sizes down to 100 μm and peak powers up to 5 kW enable peak power densities at smaller feature sizes than previously possible. The JK80PS delivers peak powers of up to 3 kW via a 100-μm fiber, and the JK150PS delivers 5 kW via a 150-μm fiber. All fibers are furnished with patented and proprietary Luminator Plug-In Pre-Aligned technology with integral backreflection protection and a built-in fiber continuity monitoring system for enhanced safety.
