RPMC Lasers Inc. has announced a new 1920-nm microchip laser. The compact device provides 2-μJ pulse energies with <20-ns pulses at repetition rates from 1 to 50 kHz in a compact FP-2 package. The eye-safe-wavelength laser can serve in a wide range of applications where high absorption by water is required. With an M2 of <1.3, it can be used for direct illumination or coupling through a fiber for integration into units for field, laboratory or many other applications. The FP-2 and FP-3 packages are also available at 1064-, 1029-, 946-, 532- and 473-nm wavelengths. With the variety of wavelengths, the lasers are suitable for use in applications including lidar, rangefinding, bioinstrumentation, marking and coding.
