Sharp Microelectronics Europe GmbH is presenting a new industrial display with a screen diagonal of 30.7 cm and LED backlighting with high brightness of up to 1200 cd/m2. XGA resolution is 1024 x 768 pixels. The LQ121X3LG02 produces a contrast ratio of 1000:1, making it suitable not only for industrial applications such as measurement, testing or controlling equipment, but also for applications that are either totally or partially outdoors, where requirements include being able to withstand difficult light conditions such as direct sunlight or fluctuations in temperature. Its backlighting, with 5 x 8 LEDs, offers numerous advantages compared to displays with cold cathode fluorescent lamp backlights, such as rapid response and good dimming capability. The display brightness can be easily controlled by photodiodes and automatically adjusted in correlation with ambient light conditions, meaning that the display remains constantly and easy legible, even in frequently changing light conditions.
