WELWYN GARDEN CITY, England, Dec. 6, 2010 — Hamamatsu Photonics UK Ltd. has introduced the L11390 series of high-performance superluminescent diodes. They feature a high radiant flux of 20 mW at a peak wavelength of 905 nm.
The devices exhibit low coherency, especially compared to a typical laser diode, and the emission area is very small. The series is available in a range of packages including 9-mm CD, side-out OHS and head-out OHS types.
Applications include ophthalmology, optical gyroscopes, optical coherence tomography, measurement, fibre optics and medical.
