SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 14, 2010 — Redfern Integrated Optics Inc. has announced that its Planex and Orion laser module platforms are now available with higher minimum output power, up to 20 mW, without the need for an external optical amplifier. The higher output power adds to the lasers’ specifications in linewidth, phase noise, relative intensity noise and Telcordia reliability. The lasers operate in the C-band from 1530 to 1565 nm and are narrowly tunable.
