Hamamatsu Photonics UK Ltd. has added the L11341 series superluminescent
diodes (SLDs) to its range of high-performance diodes. The series features a very
high radiant flux of 30 mW at a peak wavelength of 1050 nm, which is long for an
SLD and unique among the company’s range. In common with all SLDs, the L11341
series exhibits very low coherency, especially compared with a typical laser diode.
And unlike with an LED, the emission area is very small. The series is available
in a range of packages, including side-out and head-out OHS types. Output power
is 30 mW, operating current is 260 mA, emitting width is 5 μm, and spectral
width is 50 nm.
