NKT Photonics GmbH has launched the SuperK Extreme, a next-generation ecosystem fiber laser that spans various spectra and power levels, together with an extensive and intelligent accessory portfolio. Enabling on-the-fly variation of repetition rate, flexible wavelength tuning systems and optimized spectral shaping options, the laser is suitable for fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy, Förster resonance energy transfer, OCT, noncontact inspection and any other application requiring light that is broad as a lamp and bright as a laser. A redesigned software suite, SuperKontrol, allows full PC control of the system through a straightforward graphical user interface. An additional software development kit further extends the flexibility of the system, enabling users to meet demanding critical timing sequences or triggering requirements.
