Laser Operations LLC has unveiled the SUltra, an OEM turnkey laser system for plastic welding and laser soldering, heat treating, medical laser therapy, forensics and direct illumination. Based on QPC Lasers’ line of BrightLase and BrightLock fiber-coupled modules, it is available at wavelengths including 532, 980, 1064, 1470 and 1920 nm, with optical powers of up to 50 W, continuous-wave or pulsed. The portable system measures 15 x 16.2 x 45 cm and comprises a fiber-coupled or collimated laser module, a laser driver, a power supply, a thermal management system, controller electronics, and an optional touch-screen interface and visible aiming beam in a single air-cooled package powered by a 100- to 240-VAC supply. Other applications include particle counting, and solar and LCD panel manufacturing.
