Introduced by IMRA America Inc., the Femtolite FX-100i is a compact fiber laser that produces >100 mW at 805 nm. Measuring 14 x 10 x 8 cm and weighing 1.4 kg, the laser head has the same footprint as the company’s Femtolite Ultra series miniature femtosecond fiber lasers, an advantage for systems integration. With sub-120-fs pulses at a repetition rate of 75 MHz and typical pulse energy of 1.6 nJ, the laser is a suitable replacement for Ti:sapphire. Target laboratory and industrial OEM applications include terahertz wave generation, spectroscopy, imaging and detection; multiphoton fluorescence microscopy; stereolithography; and second-harmonic imaging. The CE-compliant laser operates directly from the front panel controls or remotely via an RS-232 interface.
