NKT Photonics, manufacturer of the SuperK lasers, has launched the SuperK Gauss filtering accessories, rendering the lasers suitable for use in applications in optical coherence tomography and white-light interferometry (WLI). The SuperK Gauss harnesses the wide spectral bandwidth of the SuperK Extreme supercontinuum lasers and provides a Gaussian-like spectrum. For OCT, it provides two high-power spectral outputs centered at 800 and 1300 nm, with bandwidths of up to 200 nm, through single-mode fiber using the SuperK fiber delivery system. Similar configurations also are available for WLI. The filter enables tuning of the center wavelength of each band over 20 nm. The lasers and accessories are used in biomedical instrumentation for applications in imaging and analysis.
