64-Bit Frame Grabber Drivers

OPPENWEILER, Germany, June 22, 2011 — After the release of 64-bit Windows, a corresponding driver version for the mvHyperion frame grabber family became available. Now Matrix Vision GmbH has released a 64-bit version of the drivers for all other current frame grabber families.

The drivers support the WOW64 mode, which means that existing 32-bit customer applications can be installed on 64-bit Windows systems without changes, and existing Matrix Vision frame grabbers can still be used. Given that systems will increasingly be available only with 64-bit operating systems, this will guarantee that, in the future, the company’s hardware will continue to operate with new PC hardware.

Regardless of whether the video signal is analog, digital, Camera Link or HD-SDI, the company can offer a suitable frame grabber. Thanks to the uniform mvImpact Acquire interface, the same application can be used with different Matrix Vision hardware, and changing from one hardware family to another after the fact is not a problem.

After changes in the hardware interface from PCI to PCI Express, for example, the company upgraded its frame grabbers, ensuring long-term availability of its hardware.
