CONCORD, N.C., June 27, 2011 — Automation Technology Inc. has extended its C4 camera series high-speed 3-D sensors with the C4-2040-GigE, which produces resolution of 2048 × 1088 pixels and delivers more than 66 million 3-D points with a profile frequency of up to 32 kHz. The series also include another version, the C4-2040-4M-GigE, which features a resolution of 2048 × 2048 pixels. The front of the C4 camera combines all the characteristics of the other cameras in the series and enables high-speed performances at megapixel resolution as a result of a new architecture. The 3-D sensor uses a global shutter and exposes all pixels at the same time, producing sharp images without distortion. The C4 camera supports the company’s HDR-3D technology, enabling multislope and multiframe readout. The camera delivers a dynamic range of up to 90 db and scans materials and surfaces with inhomogeneous reflectivity properties. Another feature of the fast 3-D measurement is the high light sensitivity of the sensor and its enhanced sensitivity in the near-infrared spectrum. The data exchange is based on a Gibabit Ethernet interface and complies with the GigE-Vision standard. In conjunction with the GenICam protocol, the use of this standard reduces integration efforts by the user. The configuration is done in a very fast and simple way via plug-and-play, and access to the camera is via standard interfaces. Producer-specific software libraries are not required.
