The Luxeon A illumination-grade LED from Philips Lumileds delivers freedom from binning and eases engineering efforts in technology development. Sharing the Luxeon Rebel ES platform and footprint, it incorporates a 2-mm2 thin-film flip chip and Lumiramic phosphor technology to deliver high-quality light at 2700 and 3000 K, with high efficacy and light output. The LED is hot-tested and specified at a junction temperature of 85 °C, which represents real-world operating conditions. Proprietary chip and phosphor technology allows color targeting that ensures that the emitter falls within a single three-step MacAdam ellipse on the blackbody curve. The quality, uniformity and consistency of the light from LED to LED meet requirements of luminaire manufacturers and lighting designers.
