WOBURN, Mass., Aug. 1, 2011 — Imaging Development Systems GmbH has announced the UI-5480CP, and industrial camera that offers a 5-megapixel ½-in. CMOS sensor, Power over Ethernet (PoE) and 14-fps image capture at 2560 × 1920-pixel resolution. Measuring 29 × 29 × 41 mm, the camera is a member of the company’s uEye family. Its PoE technology can supply its power via the data cable. The camera is an optimal alternative for users of analog cameras and combines all of the advantages of digital technology in the housing size of analog models. Its robust magnesium housing and screw-on connectors, as well as optically decoupled inputs and outputs, make the camera suitable for any machine vision task. Other features include rolling and global start shutter and an external 12- to 24-V power supply for those applications not requiring PoE. The camera has a C-mount for lenses and offers a variety of filter types, including infrared, daylight-cut filter and glass. It is supplied with the uEye software package. Because of its automatic configuration capability, it also can be used with the Gigabit Ethernet interface immediately, while software tools such as Camera Manager and uEye Demo facilitate quick camera integration.
