Redfern Integrated Optics Inc. has announced that its Orion laser module platforms are now available in a fully integrated and compact benchtop configuration. The benchtop lasers are designed for scientific and research and development applications that require high stability and ultralow-noise operation. They provide end users with an option to thermally tune the laser’s frequency via USB and also obtain fast frequency modulation from DC to 100 kHz via a Bayonet Neill-Concelman connector on the unit’s front panel. As with its OEM counterpart, the benchtop laser source operates in the C-band from 1530 to 1565 nm with output power of up to 20 mW, low noise and an ultranarrow linewidth of <3 kHz. It is designed for ease of use in multiple laboratory-oriented applications where absolute accuracy, stability, lifetime reliability and high resolution are vital, such as laser spectroscopy, coherent communications, remote sensing, acoustic fiber optic monitoring, light detection and ranging, and other precision metrology applications.
