EINDHOVEN, Netherlands, Aug. 15, 2011 — Adimec Advanced Image Systems bv has introduced the Quartz Q-2A340 area-scan camera, extending its line of Quartz cameras based on CMOS sensors from CMOSIS nv. The camera combines global shutter CMOS technology with the proprietary True Accurate Imaging approach that results in CCD-like image quality and high speed. The 2-megapixel camera transmits up to 340 fps at 2048 × 1088-pixel resolution with 10 bits per pixel over either a standard 10-tap Camera Link interface or two standard coaxial cables using the dual CoaXPress version. Advanced flat-field correction capabilities, even in color and with field calibration support, provide good image uniformity. The camera delivers signal-to-noise improvements of up to 12-dB shot noise compared to off-the-shelf CMOS sensor performance. It also offers a high-dynamic-range mode for large-scene dynamic capture. True Accurate Imaging manages inherent sensor imperfections and maximizes image uniformity, image reproducibility, blemish corrections and signal-to-noise performance. It improves image quality to provide accurate registration of the smallest details. The camera is available in monochrome or color models and offers optional near-infrared capabilities. Customization is supported to optimally fit the application needs.
