Power Technology Inc. has announced new blue laser diode wavelengths and power levels for 2011. The laser diodes can be installed in an assortment of the company’s modules created to address the needs of high-end original equipment manufacturer applications, including laser-induced fluorescence, confocal microscopy, high-resolution printing, flow cytometry and Raman spectroscopy. Most applications that use argon-ion, helium-cadmium and blue Nd:YAG lasers can take advantage of this technology. The new offerings include 375 nm/200 mW, 395 nm/120 mW, 415 nm/120 mW, 420 nm/120 mW and 460 nm/100 mW. The blue lasers deliver high optical quality and ultrastable wavelengths and output powers. Key features include active temperature control and an adjustable focus. Beam circularization and modulated versions are available.
