Micro-Optics Inc. has unveiled low-loss, high-extinction-ratio, polarization-maintaining fiber optic couplers. Suitable for several wavelengths, the 1 x 2 and 2 x 2 couplers are available in 50/50 or other split ratios. The devices feature >20-dB extinction ratio, <1.0-dB excess loss and >60-dB return loss, and come in various types of fibers, including Panda, bowtie and oval clad.
