KEHL, Germany, March 16, 2012 — Optronis GmbH’s CL4000CXP is a 4-megapixel camera with a high-speed CoaXPress interface that the company is upgrading with the GenICam (generic interface for cameras) standard. The camera has four CoaXPress channels and can transfer 25 Gb/s across a parallel connection. This allows up to 500 images to be received per second in real time on the connected PC. It is suitable for sophisticated real-time applications in 2- and 3-D surface analysis. The GenICam standard makes industrial high-speed cameras easier to configure because programming is no longer undertaken using customer-specific technologies but is transferred onto the GenICam application programming interface. Customers can operate the high-speed camera for their image processing requirements without the need for in-depth knowledge. The company supplies interfaces for frame grabbers produced by leading manufacturers, thus providing configuration tools that make it easier to integrate the camera as well as enabling semiautomated configuration. Supported by the development environment provided by the respective frame grabber manufacturer, this offers the customer a professional solution for evaluating optical data easily. The camera performs simple image processing in industrial applications and produces traceable and high-precision data.
