DUBLIN, Dec. 11, 2012 — Eblana Photonics Ltd. has released a single-wavelength 1877-nm laser diode module. The optically isolated 14-pin butterfly module is suited for moisture detection in tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy.

The laser is fabricated using the proprietary discrete mode laser technology platform, which delivers distributed feedback-like performance. The strained quantum well InP design provides stable single-wavelength operation and a wide degree of current tuning for wavelength control.

The laser is suited for H2O detection using the 1877-nm absorption line.

It delivers high spectral purity, with a typical side mode suppression ratio of 45 dB and a spectral linewidth of ~1 MHz. It includes a thermoelectric cooler and an optical isolator.
