LJ-V7000 3-D Laser Scanners

ITASCA, Ill., Jan. 8, 2013 — The LJ-V7000 Series high-speed laser scanners manufactured by Keyence Corp of America perform quick and precise 3-D laser measurement. A variety of heads provide scan areas as wide as 240 mm and Z-axis repeatability as high as 0.4 µm.

The scanners incorporate the next generation of HSE3 CMOS receivers, which enable a profile sampling rate of 64 kHz with a point sampling rate of 12.8 MHz. The speed allows the systems to keep up with fast production lines while providing high-resolution 100% inspection. They can acquire data from surfaces with widely varying reflectivity using a safe Class 2 blue laser.

Not only do the scanners include USB and RS-232 outputs, but they also can export all profile data over a dedicated TCP/IP Ethernet interface at full acquisition speeds. With the included software development kit, integrating the LJ-V7000 data with a third-party postprocessing system is quick and easy. To support high-speed programmable logic controller interfaces, an Ethernet/IP communications option is available.

When profile postprocessing is not needed, the scanners can provide analog data or judgment outputs using onboard 2- and 3-D data processing, enabling the scanners to act as stand-alone part evaluation systems that can be programmed in minutes.
