FAIRPORT, N.Y., March 6, 2013 — Saelig Co. Inc. has introduced the GL Spectis 1.0 Touch Mini spectrometer, made in Germany by GL Optic, an intuitive handheld device for a wide range of spectral light-measurement applications. The Android-based device comes preconfigured and individually calibrated, and it includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and SD card interfaces in a unit that operates for up to six hours on a battery charge.
The instrument offers multiple light measurements, including lux, lumens, color rendering index, correlated color temperature and radiant power value. The 256-pixel CMOS image sensor provides 16-bit measurements over a spectral range of 340 to 750 nm/640 to 1100 nm, with a spectroradiometric accuracy of 4%.
Its high sensitivity and accuracy are suitable for measuring light sources such as LEDs, halogen and fluorescent lamps, and LCD displays using a range of optical probes. With additional software, the GL Spectis 1.0 Touch Mini can be used for ISO 3664:2009 compliance testing.
