IFW 007 E Protective Windows

BAD KREUZNACH, Germany, May 16, 2013 — Schneider-Kreuznach’s Industrial Optics Div. has released IFW 007 E protective windows for industrial and surveillance applications in the 350- to 1100-nm range.

The windows are made of a colorless float glass substrate with proprietary antireflection E coating. Available in 1.3- or 2-mm thickness, they measure 12.5 to 74 mm in diameter and 25 to 50 mm square. Custom sizes are available upon request.

GLOSSARY
antireflection coating
A thin layer of material applied to a lens surface to reduce the amount of reflected energy. Ideally the index of refraction of that material should be equal to the square root of the product of the indices of the material on either side of the coating, while the ideal thickness for a single-layer coating is one-quarter of the wavelength at which reflectance is to be minimized.
