FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J., June 25, 2013 — Process Sensors’ new PSC-CMS-3M IR thermometer features a sensing head 14 mm in diameter and 28 mm in length to facilitate temperature measurement in tightly confined areas often found in scientific and medical equipment, semiconductor tools, industrial processes and OEM equipment manufacturing.

A temperature span of 50 to 600 °C, a narrow spectral response of 2.3 µm and target spot sizes down to 1 mm suit the sensor to secondary metal processing and the measurement of oxides and ceramic materials. It can measure through viewport windows such as quartz, Pyrex, glass and sapphire, and the stainless steel IR sensing head can withstand ambient temperatures up to 85 ºC without cooling.

The PC board within the sensor head cable includes scalable analog outputs of 0-1, 0-5 and 0-10 volts of direct current, and alarm. Programmable parameters include emissivity and transmissivity adjustments, peak and valley hold, averaging and extended hold with threshold and hysteresis. The company’s PSC Connect Software with USB connection supports sensor setup, multitasking, graphic display of temperature trends and data logging.
