PAVIA, Italy, July 5, 2013 — Bright Solutions’ new Wedge XF diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) laser is available in 532- and 1064-nm versions for industrial, medical, military and scientific applications.

At 532 nm, the laser delivers average power of 0.5 W and a pulse energy of 3 to 30 µJ; at 1064 nm, average power is 1 W, with a pulse energy of 7 to 70 µJ. The device features a pulse width from <500 ps to 1 ns and repetition rates of 10 to 100 kHz, with an optional range of single shot to 10 kHz. The air-cooled laser has a linear polarization ratio of 100:1, with optional circular polarization, and M2 <1.3. It is distributed by RPMC Lasers Inc.

diode-pumped solid-state laser
A compact solid-state laser, referred to as DPSSL, created when a laser diode pumps light into either the sides or end of gain crystal. Depending on where the pumping occurs, high-quality and stable output beams can be achieved with end-pumped lasers, and high-power output beams can be realized as with side-pumped lasers. Common in green laser pointers, DPSSLs are also used for a variety of materials processing applications, such as cutting and precision marking, and in optogenetics.
