EDISON, N.J., July 24, 2013 — Horiba Scientific has partnered with Particle Sciences of Bethlehem, Pa., to launch ParticleFinder, a software module for the LabSpec 6 Spectroscopy Suite. The work-flow-inspired interface leads particle analysts through the process of locating particles, generating size and shape statistics, selecting candidate particles based on size and shape parameters, and acquiring Raman spectra. It is suitable for locating and identifying any particulate matter where automated molecular analysis is key, including pharmaceutical materials, trace forensic evidence, geological rock/mineral particles, and airborne contaminants trapped in filters. The software enhances the analytical capabilities of Horiba’s Raman systems, including the XploRA ONE confocal microscope and fully automated LabRAM HR Evolution, with extended wavelength range capability and advanced confocal imaging capabilities in 2- and 3-D. The LabSpec 6 suite complete Raman software application guides researchers through system setup, Raman spectrum data and map acquisition, measurement and data processing, and report generation. As an easily accessible add-on module, ParticleFinder adds to its capabilities.
