8-12 µm Planoconvex Lens Coatings

BARRINGTON, N.J., Aug. 30, 2013 — Edmund Optics is now offering antireflection coatings of 8-12 µm with its zinc selenide planoconvex lenses. They are suitable for high-power laser applications, thermal imaging, forward-looking infrared (FLIR) and medical systems.

The coating is optimized to have less than 0.5% reflection from 7.5 to 13.5 µm. A lens kit containing all nine uncoated 25.4-mm-diameter zinc selenide planoconvex lenses is also offered.

The lenses are available individually in diameters of 12.7, 25.4 and 50.8 mm with a variety of focal lengths in both uncoated and 8-12 µm coated models. They offer a usable transmission range of 600 nm to 16 µm with low dispersion.
